Hello all! 

This week we had transfers, as Hermana Zaragoza went for her casa. Hermana Meztli Aguilar from Distrito Federal, Mexico, is my new companion and we get along great. She's a great missionary! Her favorite things include, but are not limited to, the color blue, street contacting, being obedient, fried foods, and hot sauce. She has promised to teach me the secret to Mexican cooking, so I will keep her. 

The week of work was pretty good, a little rainy, with lots of talking with people, walking, and setting appointments only to have them fall through. Typical. But we did have some great lessons. One was with Iris, the grandmother of a past investigator, who has children who are members. She had questions about life after death - just the kinds of questions we like to hear. 

Sunday after church we were doing visits with one of the young men preparing for his mission and we found a less-active young man outside of his house. This young man, Daniel, had always hid from us so we took advantage of the situation and cornered him into listening to a message from us. 

When we found him I noticed that his face was dark and that he looked really sad. After explaining to him the importance of obedience and the great love his Father in Heaven has for him and His desire that Daniel return to the Church, his countenance changed. It was a really neat experience. In just a matter of 15 minutes he was smiling and laughing and had a light in his eyes. He promised that he would make the changes he needs to in his life and that he would go to church this Sunday. I hope he does. It's a neat opportunity to see how the light of the gospel can illuminate our lives. I love to be able to see that in the people we teach and visit.

Another week has come and gone!

Not much going on around these parts. Just the normal, same old same old missionary work. Actually it's pretty great, I couldn't ask for anything better!

This week we:

 -Finished splits with the hermanas of Valle, which went well.

-Started teaching a cousin of a recent convert, named Fernanda who is really positive. Her other cousin of 5 years old, Angel, who also goes to church with us, accompanied us in the lesson. We asked him if he wanted to invite Fernanda to church, so he told her he likes to go to church and he likes to sit quiet. I think she was sold on the idea.

-Got LOTS of rain - it was great - and it hasn't been too hot!

-Have been enjoying our last week together because Hermana Zaragoza is finishing her mission. She's been a great companion, a friend from my very first day when I arrived in San Lorenzo. I will sure miss her. 

-My new companion will be Hermana Aguilar, also from Mexico, who came with me in my group in the Guatemala MTC. I'm excited to be companions with her, she's really great!

This week I have been thinking a lot about how grateful I am for the opportunity to be a missionary - to be able to serve the Lord full time. I have learned a lot in my time here and can't wait to learn even more! I am so grateful for the Spirit and for the guidance and direction He gives me.

Another great week in Honduras. This week we had splits, taught some great lessons, and felt an earthquake! 

Thursday night during our daily planning our house started shaking, lasting for about 30 seconds, and it kind of freaked us out. We didn't know whether we should get under the table or in the door frame or leave the house, so we just said a prayer and waited it out. It was kind of cool. Luckily it wasn't strong enough to cause any damage or hurt anyone, so that was good. Afterward we had about 5 or 6 good aftershocks to keep things interesting.

We have been teaching a lady and her adult son recently, Orbelina and Humberto. The lessons with them are always really spiritual and they have been asking some great questions. The husband of the hermana died about 2 years ago, so we started out with the Plan of Salvation. After teaching about the Atonement and our purpose on the earth, the Hermana asked us if there is life after this life. And will she be able to see her husband and children after she dies? I love these golden questions. YES, hermana! I am so grateful for a loving Heavenly Father who has blessed us with a perfect plan, that we can make it back to Him one day. 

In other news, Hermana Zaragoza is leaving me next week for Mexico because she's finishing the mission, so that makes me really sad. She's a great missionary and has taught me a lot!

Don't have lots of time, but this week was good! It's been raining lots but sometimes it helps with the heat, at least when you're soaked. They call it winter. Most of the time it's not as hot, they say the hot time is over for a while. 

Tuesday we had Leadership Counsel where we talked about pants :) Just kidding, but not really. It was really great and we talked lots about working with members and getting investigators to church!

Friday we did splits with the sisters in La Joya, which was great. 

Today we went to a place called Valle de Angeles, about an hour away from here that is really pretty. We hiked up to a waterfall with the zone, and that was pretty cool!

Hermana Irma is doing really well. She set her baptism date for the 18th, and she is excited. We are taking her over to the chapel tomorrow to start her family history work and she is really excited for that. She is just like a regular member, the sisters love her and are really accepting her. We are very happy.
