I don't have a lot of time and don't feel like much happened this week, so I will make this quick!

We continue to have splits with the hermanas in the city here, and it's been a really neat experience. I love being able to get to know them, their struggles and their accomplishments, and just tell them they are doing a good job! I have learned a lot from each one and feel so grateful to have been able to become friends with sisters from all over the world! 

We continue working with our investigators, finding more, and hoping and praying that they will progress! Hermana Zaragoza is awesome, super cute and funny, and we get along great. She has taught me and helped me with so much. I owe a lot to her.

Well, not much to report this week. We had splits twice with two companionships of hermanas, are working hard to find new investigators, and inviting everyone to come unto Christ! Lots of the normal run of the mill missionary life around these parts.

I have been learning a lot about patience, humility, diligence, and faith the past little while. Learning to trust in the Lord's plan for us is the hardest thing to accept, but it's something that we as missionaries preach to people every day - that the Lord's ways are higher than our ways.

I have a testimony that this Church really is the Church that Jesus Christ leads and directs, through a living prophet, President Thomas S. Monson. I know that thanks to a faithful prayer of a young man in 1820, we are able to have all the priesthood keys restored on the earth. I know that my Heavenly Father loves me and is watching out for me, guiding us to His children that need us. I love this Gospel and am so grateful for the opportunity that I have to be a carrier of this light to the world. I know it's true and I know that this is the best thing I can be doing with my life right now.

First a note from Amy's parents, Doug & Eva:
In an April 4th email Amy startled us with the news that she had been diagnosed with mononucleosis, which had been going around the mission a few months before that. She had had symptoms for several weeks by then. Amy has been out over 10 months and is determined to recover so that she can finish her mission there.

Thankfully she is doing much better this week.  An excerpt from her email to us today:   
"The past couple days I haven't had a fever and have felt lots better. I received a priesthood blessing from my zone leaders that calmed my nerves, promising me that the Lord is pleased with my service, that He is watching over and protecting me, and that I will be able to complete my goals as long as I am faithful and obedient."


Well, this week was pretty good! 

Tuesday we had a meeting with President Bowler and all the Zone Leaders and Hermana Leaders, which was really great. We learned lots about always following the Spirit and doing all we can to find the prepared people who are in our areas.

Hermana Guevara left us on Wednesday for the South, where she is doing great! We became two again, which was weird. 

Thursday Hermana Ingrid almost didn't show up for her interview with our district leader, but after praying on the street corner she showed up! And she passed!

Friday we did splits with the sisters of Santa Lucia and it was great. I was with Hermana Guandinango of Ecuador and we had some cool experiences here in our area.

Saturday we had the baptism of Ingrid, 18 years old, which was really great. She is a really special girl who has been so excited for this day to come. Yesterday she was confirmed and it was so neat! Her grandma really felt the Spirit and we think she is progressing really well. 

Attached: My favorite 101-year-old Honduran woman, Hermana Edelina. She can't see or hear anymore, but she loves to sing "Grande Eres Tu" [How Great Thou Art] and enjoy the afternoon sunshine. Her husband Diegito, 97 years old, sometimes sings to us, too, something about an old girlfriend who married another chavo while he was away working. They're awesome. 

Thanks so much for your prayers, I am doing really well down here. I have been putting all my faith and trust in the Lord in the past few months and I know He is with me and is protecting me.

Well, this week was pretty great. Five minutes after arriving here in Teguc we got a call from President Bowler to tell us that there is a sister waiting for her visa to her mission in Costa Rica, so she will be staying with us for the next two weeks! So we are a trio with Hermana Guevara from Progresso, Honduras. Both my companions are great and we get along swimmingly. 

More about Hermana Brenda Zaragoza:  She's from Michuacan, Mexico, and started her mission in December, 2014. Also, she was in the same branch as me when I started down in San Lorenzo, so we were already good friends! It has been fun to be her companion. We are the Hermana Lideres for the city of Tegucigalpa. 

We have some awesome investigadoras: Ingrid, 18 years old, and her Grandma Irma. They both went to Conference on Sunday and loved it. Hermana Irma was sitting next to me and I noticed her fall asleep for a little while. Afterwards she excused herself for sleeping, but told us it was the first day she hadn't had coffee in her life, after we taught the Word of Wisdom lesson on Saturday night. We were so proud of her and gave her a big hug. Ingrid has a baptismal date for this Saturday and Irma for the next couple weeks. 

Our area is really pretty, although it is literally just on a mountain so we have to climb lots of hills, which is cool. 

I loved Conference yesterday. I could feel the Spirit so strong when President Monson spoke. I really know that he is a living prophet who has been called to lead and guide us today. I can't wait for the Liahona to read all the talks and get more out of them.
