Another great week in
Honduras. This week we had splits, taught some great lessons, and
felt an earthquake!
Thursday night during our daily planning our house
started shaking, lasting for about 30 seconds, and it kind of freaked us out.
We didn't know whether we should get under the table or in the door frame or
leave the house, so we just said a prayer and waited it out. It was kind of
cool. Luckily it wasn't strong enough to cause any damage or hurt anyone, so
that was good. Afterward we had about 5 or 6 good aftershocks to keep things
interesting.
[From CBSNews.com: MANAGUA, Nicaragua -- An earthquake with a preliminary magnitude of 6.1 shook the northwestern coast of Nicaragua late Thursday night not far from the Honduran border.]
We have been teaching a lady and her adult son recently,
Orbelina and Humberto. The lessons with them are always really spiritual and
they have been asking some great questions. The husband of the hermana died
about 2 years ago, so we started out with the Plan of Salvation. After teaching
about the Atonement and our purpose on the earth, the Hermana asked us if there
is life after this life. And will she be able to see her husband and children
after she dies? I love these golden questions. YES, hermana! I am so grateful
for a loving Heavenly Father who has blessed us with a perfect plan, that we
can make it back to Him one day.
In other news, Hermana Zaragoza is leaving me next week
for Mexico because she's finishing the mission, so that makes me really sad.
She's a great missionary and has taught me a lot!
The server we are at won't let me upload pictures, so I
will send some next week.
Have a great week!
Hermana White
