Yesterday we went to find one of the hermanas who was pretty positive in the afternoon. When we got close we yelled "Buenas!" as is customary, and the door closed really fast. From inside we could hear her two little kids yelling "We're sleeping!" ... "Um, my parents are sleeping! Come back another day!" And we talked with them for a little bit and then I saw the hermana peek out the window. Okay, that's fine!
We went to another house where we had met with another hermana and the daughter was out front. We asked if her mom was home, she's all, "Yeah give me a sec" and runs around back. She comes back and says, "Well she actually is at the hospital right now." "Okay", I say, "Go ask her when we can come back". She runs back and says, "She says she's Catholic, so like never." Okay.
We go to another house where the hermana is outside and we asked her if she has some time to share a message with her. She's like, "No because my pastor says I shouldn't listen to you, so like you shouldn't come anymore." Alright, that's cool.
But we also had some good experiences, with an hermana telling us she felt like our message was so refreshing, like she was thirsty for something she didn't know she was missing. Or a different lesson with a brother of a less-active hermana. He asked us to tell him more about our church, and was so interested in the fact that there's a living prophet. Yeah, it's pretty cool, and like it's the true church.
So we have learned a lot and are going to press forward with a steadfastness in Christ (2 Nephi 31:20) and are hoping to see many miracles!
We also celebrated the birthday of the hermana who takes care of us and cooks for us, picture attached. Hermana Raquel is so special and has helped us so much, she really takes the missionaries under her wing and opens her home to us.
Also attached is a picture of the cat that Hermana Realivazquez stole from our neighbor - AKA he likes us better so he prefers to hang out in our house.
Have a great week! Thanks for the love and prayers.
